Mr. Femi Meshe, the Chairman, Anniversary Central Planning Committee for the 10th Coronation Anniversary of the Deji of Akure Kingdom, has described the reign of the first class monarch in the state as a blessing to the kingdom and Nigeria as a whole.
Meshe, a proud son of Akure Kingdom and Chief Executive Officer of Inter-Atlas Synergy Limited ,said this in his welcome address during the 10th anniversary colloquium, held at the Federal University of Technology Akure said the Deji’s impact on the people has reached far beyond the kingdom boundaries.
Meshe said ” Three months ago while visiting communities for our planning, I met an elderly woman in the market who grabbed my hand and said, ” Tell our Kabiyesi thank you. My grandchildren now have the light to read at night”. At that moment, I understood that today isn’t about ceremonies or protocols, it is about gratitude from the heart of a passion who knows they loved.
He further said “When we started planning this anniversary months ago, I thought we were simply organizing an event. But as our committee travelled across Akure, meeting with people, listening to their stories, I realized we weren’t just planning a celebration, we were documenting a blessing. The blessing of what happens when a leader truly loves and cares for his people.
“Let me end with this: ten years ago, we had hope. Today, we have proof. Proof that traditional leadership matters, that caring governance works, and that when a King truly loves his people, blessings befall all.”
Those present at the event included , Dr. Tope Fasua, Special Adviser to the President on Economic Matters, who represented the Vice President, Kashim Shettima ,Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, Dr. Taiwo Fasonranti, Ondo SSG, who represented the Governor Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State, Kayode Ajulo SAN, State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Oba Ajibade Gbadegesin Ogunoye, Olowo of Owo, Oba Olu Falae, of Ilu -Abo, retired Generals and eminent personalities across the globe.
