Full List: Tinubu Appoints IBB’s son, Others To Lead Key Federal Agencies

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Muhammad Babangida, the son of former military president Ibrahim Babangida, as Chairman of the Bank of Agriculture, in a new wave of federal agency leadership announcements.

The appointments were made public in a statement issued Friday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga. The statement noted that the Bank of Agriculture has been restructured, with Babangida, 53, tapped to lead the institution’s new phase.

Babangida holds a degree in Business Administration and a Master’s in Public Relations and Business Communication from the European University in Switzerland. He also completed an executive programme on Corporate Governance at Harvard Business School in 2002.

In addition to Babangida’s appointment, several others were named to key positions across various federal agencies. These include:

Lydia Kalat Musa from Kaduna State as Chairman of the Oil and Gas Free Zones Authority

Jamilu Wada Aliyu from Kano State as Chairman of the National Educational Research and Development Council

Yahuza Ado Inuwa, also from Kano, as Chairman of the Standard Organisation of Nigeria

Sanusi Musa (SAN), from Kano, as Chairman of the Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution

Prof. Al-Mustapha Alhaji Aliyu of Sokoto State as Director General of the Directorate of Technical Cooperation in Africa

Sanusi Garba Rikiji from Zamfara State as Director General of the Nigerian Office for Trade Negotiations

Mrs Tomi Somefun, from Oyo State, as Managing Director of the National Hydro-Electric Power Areas Development Commission

Dr Abdulmumini Mohammed Aminu-Zaria, from Kaduna State, as Executive Director of the Nigerian Integrated Water Resources Management Commission

The presidency did not immediately provide timelines for when the appointees will assume office or the specific mandates attached to their new roles.
