Fifteen indigent students ranging from primary to tertiary institutions received scholarship and bursary wards from the Deputy General Overseer of the Gospel Faith Mission International (GOFAMINT), Pastor (Dr.) Emmanuel Toluwalemiose Oluwayemi at Isuada, Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State.
The cleric, who gave out the scholarship and bursary awards, also gave three women money to support their small-scale businesses in the town
Pastor Oluwayemi, who was in Isuada for a 3-day crusade, which commenced on Friday and ended on Sunday, described education as a vital tool for nation-building and noted that funding should not be the sole responsibility of the government.
He noted that if all churches co-operate and support education, the youth of the nation would be much better off.
The host pastor, Pastor Michael Akinola Ojo, disclosed that the programme began in 2023 through divine inspiration and aligns with word of God in the book of James 1:23.
He said: “This initiative includes scholarship awards for students and financial support for small-scale traders, aiming to impact lives both spiritually and physically.”
Meanwhile, the chairman of the 5-member Scholarship/Empowerment Committee, Dr. Sylvester Itanrin, a university lecturer, appreciated the assembly pastor for the initiative,
He said the initiative stemmed from Pastor Oluwayemi’s passion for education and helping others.
Dr. Itanrin disclosed that a total of 15 students received bursary awards this year:
He said six from the primary education category, five from the secondary education category, and four from the tertiary education category.
Among the beneficiaries was Master Precious Olanegan, who scored 346 in the 2025 University Matriculation Examination UME.
Furthermore, three women received financial support to enhance their small-scale trading businesses.
Earlier, the Deputy General Overseer GOFAMINT, called on Nigerians to remain steadfast in their faith despite the current economic difficulties being faced by the nation.
He emphasized that Christians should not allow the economic situation to dictate their behaviour.
The minister of God urged Nigerians to repent from their evil ways, turn to God, and trust in His divine intervention to heal the land.
Pastor Oluwayemi highlighted several important traits of members of the Kingdom of God, including holiness, obedience, victory, and fearlessness.
He warned against living in fear, stating that it can undermine faith and expose individuals to vulnerability, emphasizing on the necessity of faith and perseverance in the face of adversity.
Moreover, the Asuada of Isuada, Oba Joel Oluwayemi Adeluwoye, commended the Pastor Oluwayemi for his dedication to Isuada and his commitment to the community’s progress.
He expressed gratitude for the scholarship awards and empowerment initiatives, believing it would significantly benefit the recipients.
The monarch, therefore, urged the beneficiaries to use the funds wisely.
