Six people were recovered dead, four were rescued alive while one was left in critical condition in an accident that occurred in front of NIPCO GAS Station, opposite Prayer City, Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministry headquarters, outbound Lagos, along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
The accident occurred when a truck collided with a fuel tanker and a 14-seater commercial bus.
The Guardian gathered that movement of traffic has been held to a standstill following the incident.
“Rescue/emergency was led by TRACE, FRSC, Fire Service, and the Police,” an eyewitness revealed.
The Corridor Commander, Ibafo, Denja Abdullahi, said: “The accident happened around 6:30.a.m. Six persons died in the accident, but the tanker drivers escaped. Four persons were rescued alive in the bus.
A lady was in a critical condition and she was taken to the hospital.”
Public Relations Officer of the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency, Babatunde Akinbiyi, said: “We plead with the general public and road users to show understanding and cooperation for any inconveniences this might cause please.”
