A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State, Bolaji Adeniji, has said Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola remains the best-prepared and politically positioned man to succeed Governor Dapo Abiodun in 2027.
He made the declaration when speaking with select journalists in Abeokuta.
Adeniji, who is also the convener of Ogun West Initiative, argued that among those jostling for the governorship seat in the state, the senator representing Ogun West senatorial district at the National Assembly is not only the most acceptable by the people, but also the most credible in terms of delivery of dividends of democracy.
He added that meritocracy, performance, leadership style, and commitment to the progressive ideals of the APC are among the significant factors that make Senator Adeola the best man for the ticket of the party.
Adeniji emphasised that the senator’s political trajectory has been marked by consistency, grassroots connection, and a proven ability to deliver on electoral promises.
“Adeola’s tenure in the National Assembly has been characterised by impactful legislation, infrastructural interventions, and empowerment programmes that directly benefit the people of Ogun West and the state at large,” he said.
He contended that Adeola’s candidacy would correct the historical imbalance in the state’s politics, where Ogun West has never produced a governor despite its significant contributions to the state’s economy.
“It is not just about equity, it is also about competence; and Adeola represents both imperatives as he has an unprecedented track-record of performance and symbolises the long-overdue aspiration of Ogun West,” Adeniji said.
He referenced Adeola’s unifying factor within the APC and ability to build bridges across political and ethnic divides as another attribute of his uniqueness and suitability for the top job.
“Politics is about numbers and relationships. The senator has cultivated both. His reach goes beyond Ogun West, and that is why he stands out as the natural successor to Governor Abiodun,” Adeola stated.
