The maiden edition of the quarterly newspaper hit the stands in July 2025, featuring interviews, features, sports, entertainment, and news reports, all presented in a professional and reader-friendly format.
Speaking in an interview, Otunba Yomi Akingbade said that “Nigeria Today Times” is the product of years of research and planning by media professionals, and is designed to stand out among its peers.
“Nigeria Today Times” is in a class of its own. Our plan is to contribute to the growth of the media industry through people-oriented reports that capture public interest.
“We believe the media has a crucial role in making the country better. It is not enough to criticise the government; we must all contribute our quota to the development of Nigeria.
“Our democracy must survive, and the people must be properly informed,” he said, while also commending other media houses for their contributions to national growth.
Otunba Akingbade assured that the new newspaper would uphold the highest ethical standards of journalism, while striving to enhance Nigeria’s image.
Echoing the CEO’s sentiments, Editor, Fisayomi Ajibola emphasised the paper’s commitment to credibility and public enlightenment.
“We are prepared to take up the challenge of keeping Nigerians informed with accurate, well-researched reports.
“Our aim is to restore confidence in the media space by ensuring that rumours and unverified stories do not thrive.
We will not compromise on standards, and in time, Nigeria will reclaim its lost glory with the media playing a leading role,” he said.
With its official debut, “Nigeria Today Times” joins the league of national newspapers poised to inform, educate, and contribute to nation-building in an era where accurate information is crucial to Nigeria’s democratic growth.
