A suspected armed robber was lynched by an angry mob late Tuesday October 8, 2024, after allegedly killing a tricycle rider during a robbery attempt along the NPA Expressway in Warri.
Eyewitnesses report that the suspect, in an attempt to rob the rider, fatally attacked him, leading to the rider’s death.
This drew the attention of bystanders and local youths, who quickly took matters into their own hands, beating the suspect severely before setting him on fire.
The remains of the suspect was burnt beyond recognition.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.
