A section of Kaura modern market, located opposite Prince and Princess Estate in Abuja, has been razed.
No fewer than 40 lock-up shops were gutted by late night fire.
The owners of the shops that were engulfed in fire around 11pm on Friday have started counting their losses.
Although, the cause of the fire could not be ascertained, the market men and women lamented that the fire fighters arrived at the scene so late.
Some.of the shop owners were seen going through debris of their stalk that were destroyed by fire.
They, however, called on the government and philanthropists to assist them as some of the said they borrowed money from banks to run their businesses.
