Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party has taken a commanding lead over his All Progressives Congress rival, Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, in the 2026 Osun State governorship election, according to the latest figures from all 30 local government areas.
The results show Adeleke polling 511,067 votes, against 444,815 votes recorded by Oyebamiji, giving the incumbent a margin of 66,252 votes.
The African Democratic Congress candidate, Najeem Salaam, placed a distant third with 17,180 votes across the state.
The figures indicate that Adeleke has maintained a significant statewide advantage after earlier results from 25 LGAs had put him ahead by 67,314 votes.
However, a comparison of the detailed local government results supplied in the latest update shows that the final tally differs slightly from the earlier running total, underscoring the need for the figures to be reconciled with the official state collation before a final declaration.
Adeleke records strong margins
Adeleke’s strongest performances came from several areas where he established substantial margins over the APC candidate.
In Ede North, Adeleke scored 35,427 votes against Oyebamiji’s 10,283, giving him a margin of 25,144 votes.
In Ede South, the governor polled 26,188 votes against the APC’s 6,219, while in Iwo, he secured 27,085 votes against 19,660.
Adeleke also won Osogbo, where he scored 36,480 votes against Oyebamiji’s 30,474.
Other notable victories included Ife East, where Adeleke polled 27,201 votes against 18,600; Ife Central, with 21,171 against 15,913; Oriade, with 21,343 against 14,863; and Egbedore, where he recorded 19,278 votes against the APC’s 11,194.
He also won Ejigbo, polling 18,458 votes against Oyebamiji’s 16,195.
APC records key victories
Oyebamiji, however, recorded significant victories in several local government areas.
The APC candidate won Irewole decisively, scoring 29,972 votes against Adeleke’s 10,934 — a margin of 19,038 votes.
The APC also won Boripe, where it scored 19,963 votes against Adeleke’s 12,448, as well as Ilesa East, where Oyebamiji polled 16,208 against 12,280.
Other APC victories listed in the latest results include Irepodun, Obokun, Atakunmosa West, Atakunmosa East, Isokan, Ola-Oluwa, Ife South and Olorunda.
In Olorunda, the APC secured 24,671 votes against Adeleke’s 23,514.
The contest was particularly close in several of the APC’s winning councils.
In Isokan, Oyebamiji polled 14,063 votes against Adeleke’s 13,765, a margin of only 298 votes.
In Ola-Oluwa, the APC scored 10,782 votes against 10,063 for Adeleke, while in Ife South, Oyebamiji recorded 14,678 votes against Adeleke’s 13,507.
Results reveal competitive contest
The results supplied show a fiercely contested election, with both major candidates recording victories across different parts of the state.
Adeleke’s advantage, however, has been driven largely by sizeable margins in several of the local governments he won.
The latest cumulative figures put the Accord candidate ahead by 66,252 votes, while the ADC’s Salaam trails both major contenders with 17,180 votes.
Discrepancy in LGA victory count
