Former Real Madrid striker, Karim Benzema has opened the door to a potential return to the Spanish giants, while also remaining non-committal about his future at Al Ittihad.
According to a Fabrizio Romano post on X on Tuesday, Benzema said, “If Florentino is still there, it could happen. I could never say no to Pérez.
“I’m a Madridista. I feel it in my soul. Madrid is still my city. We’ll see what happens.”
In his current situation in Saudi Arabia, where his contract with Al Ittihad runs until June 2026, the ex-France international remained cautious about committing to either staying or leaving.
“I don’t know if I’ll leave Al Ittihad or stay. It depends on many factors… let’s see what happens,” he explained.
Benzema, who scored over 300 goals for Real Madrid and was pivotal in multiple Champions League and La Liga victories, remains a beloved figure among Los Blancos fans.
Benzema also called for calm and fairness in the ongoing scrutiny surrounding Vinícius Júnior, urging fans and pundits not to overlook the Brazilian’s enormous contributions to the club.
“Don’t forget what Vini Jr did for Real Madrid, it’d be not fair at all. He’s a very good kid, with a big heart, who wants to learn, he’s phenomenal”.
