I Learn Governance Lessons from Those Who Insult Me—Tinubu

By Awhawha Awhawha

President Bola Tinubu has said he draws valuable governance insights from critics who insult him, emphasizing that public scrutiny helps him become a better leader.

Speaking during a town-hall meeting in Benue State, Tinubu stated that reading negative commentary in newspapers often reveals blind spots that might otherwise go unnoticed.

The president’s remarks come amid growing concern over the security situation in Benue, where a recent wave of herdsmen attacks has left over 100 people dead.

He used the forum to express solidarity with the people of the state, urging Governor Hyacinth Alia to remain focused despite political opposition and distractions.

Tinubu’s response to criticism reflects his administration’s attempt to project resilience and adaptability in the face of public discontent.

His remarks also align with earlier statements made in Enugu, where he described nation-building as a collaborative effort requiring both praise and protest.
