Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has tasked the Chairman of the Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC), Prince Biyi Poroye with ensuring the commission delivers tangible results that directly improve the lives of the people in oil-producing communities.
Speaking at the reception organised by friends in honour of the OSOPADEC Chairman, Prince Biyi Poroye, on Saturday, July 12, 2025, the Governor emphasized the importance of effective service delivery, and visible impact in the discharge of the commission’s mandate.
According to a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, Governor Aiyedatiwa, who could not hide his admiration for Prince Poroye’s doggedness, capacity and intellectual prowess, urged him to ensure that the people in the mandate areas feel the impact of the commission in every sector.
He expressed his confidence in the Chairman to deliver, urging other board members to support him in order to bring development to the people of the areas.
Earlier, the Chairman of the occasion, Rt. Hon. Victor Olabimtan, lauded the governor for his developmental strides and the appointment of Biyi Poroye as OSOPADEC chairman.
Olabimtan expressed his confidence that Prince Poroye would live up to expectation, describing him as a competent and transparent person.
The Chairman of the Planning Committee, Mr. Kenneth Odusola-Stevenson, noted that Prince Poroye would do wonders for the people of the mandate areas with his competence and abilities.
Reacting, Prince Biyi Poroye appreciated the guests for turning up for the event, promising not to betray the confidence reposed in him as OSOPADEC Chairman.
Those in attendance included the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Taiwo Fasoranti, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Prince Segun Omojuwa, a member of the House of Representatives, Hon Abiola Makinde, Deputy Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Ololade Gbegudu, political appointees, among other dignitaries.
