Sunshine Stars Fc on Sunday defeated Akwa United 2-0 at the Ondo State Sports complex, Akure in a match day 35 encounter.

Sunshine stars converted the chance that came their way in the 74th minutes as lucky Nwafor got an assist from Nedu and recorded the first goal.

Kennedy Boboye introduced Ibrahim Yusuf, Nelson Osahon and Moses Omodumueke, in the 56th minutes as they replaced Promise Awosanmi, Mafeng Pam and Sodiq Ibrahim.
The resistance of the Akwa United’s defence coordinated by Emmanuel Ogbuagu and Ogechukwu Ogbu forced Kennedy Boboye to introduce young sensation, Chinedu Nwosu in the 73rd minute, the Akure secondary commercial graduate who replaced Opeoluwa Olufemi and few minutes later performed the needed magic.
Exactly two minutes after the opener, inspired by the chanting of the fans chanting, Yusuf Ibrahim scored the second goal from a close range.
The match therefore ended in 2-0.
Technical adviser of the home team, Kennedy Boboye, while appreciating the fans for their unflinching support said: “It’s a good one for us at home today, it’s not over yet , but of course we are happy with the result because it pushed us out of the danger zone , we wont relent.”
