It’s no news that a respected medical practitioner and public health advocate, Dr. Bolaji Marie Odusina, had officially declared her intention to contest for the governorship of Ogun State , a move that has sent jittering to the spine of other contestants in the state.
But fresh from her camp is the presentation of a vision centered on inclusive leadership, economic empowerment, and stronger international partnerships for the benefit of the state and its people.
In a press statement made available to the media, Dr. Odusina explained that her decision to enter the governorship race is driven by a deep commitment to service and a clear plan to bring a fresh perspective to governance in Ogun State.
She outlined four major reasons behind her decision as a Call for Inclusive Leadership, a Medical Professional’s Approach to Governance, Commitment to Wealth Creation and Economic Opportunities and Expanding International Exposure and Business Partnerships.
Dr. Odusina emphasized the importance of greater female representation in leadership, noting that her candidacy represents an opportunity to strengthen inclusive governance and encourage broader participation of women in political and economic decision-making.
“Women make up a significant portion of our population and contribute immensely to our communities. Leadership must reflect the diversity and strength of our people,” she stated.
As a trained medical doctor, Dr. Odusina said her professional background has prepared her to approach governance with discipline, compassion, and a strong commitment to human development.
She noted that her experience in healthcare has given her a unique understanding of the importance of planning, accountability, and policies that improve the quality of life for citizens.
