In a bid to strengthen grassroots healthcare delivery, the Delta State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Joseph Onojaeme, conducted an inspection tour of ongoing renovation and upgrade works at several Primary Health Care (PHC) centres across the state.
Onojaeme was accompanied by staff on Wednesday on the inspection to the facilities being executed by the Delta State Government.
The inspection covered critical renovation works in key health centres including the PHC in Ogwashi-Uku (Aniocha South LGA), Okponta PHC and staff quarters (Oshimili North LGA), Ogboli Comprehensive Health Centre and staff quarters in Achala (Oshimili North LGA), Umuodafe PHC and staff quarters (Oshimili North LGA), as well as the PHC in Umuagu (Oshimili South LGA).
Most of these projects involve not only facility upgrades but also improvements to staff accommodation to support healthcare workers.
The exercise underscores Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s commitment to providing accessible, functional, and well-equipped health facilities for residents, especially in rural communities.
