CP BODE OJAJUNI RECEIVES SPOKESPERSONS OF SECURITY AGENCIES IN OGUN STATE, REAFFIRMS INTER-AGENCY SYNERGY

The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, psc, FCSS, MNIPR, has received spokespersons of security and paramilitary agencies in Ogun State during a strategic courtesy visit by the Military, Police and Paramilitary Public Relations Officers Forum (MILPOPPROF), Ogun State Chapter, at the Command Headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta.

The delegation comprised spokespersons representing the Nigeria Police Force, Nigerian Correctional Service, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Federal Fire Service, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), So-Safe Corps, Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), Amotekun Corps and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), State fire service among others.

The delegation was led by the Chairman, MILPOPPROF, Ogun State Chapter and Police Public Relations Officer, Ogun State Command, DSP Oluseyi B. Babaseyi, anipr.

Speaking on behalf of the forum, DSP Babaseyi appreciated CP Ojajuni for receiving the delegation and highlighted the historical significance of the visit, noting the Commissioner’s pioneering role in the establishment of MILPOPPROF during his tenure as Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Command, in 2005.

He noted that the presence of spokespersons from different security and paramilitary agencies demonstrated the forum’s continued commitment to inter-agency cooperation, credible security communication, public enlightenment and the promotion of public trust.

Responding, CP Bode Ojajuni expressed delight at receiving the delegation and reaffirmed his pride in the enduring legacy of MILPOPPROF, which he described as a product of the need to strengthen understanding and cooperation among security agencies.

The Commissioner recalled that the forum was established over two decades ago through a pioneering initiative between himself and Major Kingsley Umoh of the 81 Division, then 9th Brigade, following the 2005/2006 inter-agency clash at Ojuelegba, Lagos State.

He explained that the central vision was to eliminate inter-agency rivalry, promote mutual trust and create a platform for effective information sharing and coordinated security communication.

CP Ojajuni urged the current generation of spokespersons to preserve these founding ideals while adapting them to the realities of modern, technology-driven communication. He stressed the importance of speaking with one voice, sharing credible information and supporting one another in building public confidence in security institutions.

The Commissioner further encouraged the spokespersons to remain professional, factual and responsive in their engagement with the public, noting that effective security communication is critical to sustaining peace, public confidence and cooperation with law enforcement agencies.

Members of MILPOPPROF expressed appreciation to the Commissioner for his mentorship, guidance and continued commitment to the ideals upon which the forum was founded. They pledged to sustain the legacy of inter-agency collaboration and continue working collectively to promote peace, public safety and professional security communication across Ogun State.

The Ogun State Police Command remains committed to strengthening partnerships with all security and relevant stakeholders in the collective interest of public safety, while encouraging members of the public to remain calm, vigilant and promptly report credible information to the appropriate security agencies.
