BREAKING: Senate Panel Wants Natasha Suspended For Six Months

Olayiwola Matthew

The Senate Committee on Public Conduct, Ethics, Privileges, and Public Petitions on Thursday recommended that Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central, be suspended for six months.

Senator Neda Imasuen, chairman of the committee, presented the report during plenary, stating that Natasha was found guilty of all allegations against her. She failed to appear before the legislative committee for a review of her conduct, which contributed to the committee’s recommendation.

Senators are currently debating the report, with some proposing further amendments before the committee’s recommendations are formally adopted.

The controversy surrounding Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan began when she clashed with Senate President Godswill Akpabio over a seating arrangement in the chamber. The situation escalated when she later accused Akpabio of sexual harassment and abuse of office, among other allegations.

Details will follow as the debate and proceedings continue.
