Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has approved installation of 54 boreholes in the three senatorial districts of the state immediately for the use of rural dwellers.

This was disclosed by the Senior Special Assistant(Community Engagement (Central) to the governor, Femi Fadairo while explaining what the governor is doing to make residents of rural settlements feel the impact of his administration.
He explained that himself and his counterparts in the northern and southern senatorial districts individually met with people under their jurisdiction to interface with them to know what their desires are.
Fadairo disclosed that the rural dwellers demanded accessible roads, potable water, power supply and security in the communities to enhance their production.
According to him, “The governor says he wants to do more at the local level than the state level due to neglect.
“The people at the local level and the communities are the ones voting. They are the most poor and affected people in the state.
“I moved round, interfacing with them and I noticed some common things in their requests like solar lights, good roads for transporting their commodities.
“They need the lights because of criminals that use the bush to perpetrate their work, especially the herders. My own take is to report back to the governor. Last two weeks, the Ministry of Water Resources said money has been approved for the resuscitation of Owena Dam, and it is ongoing.
“My own office, being community engagement is to lead Ministry of Water Resources to lay the pipes in the right places so that they have good drinking, potable water, which will prevent cholera outbreak and others. Access to good water guarantees good health to a level.
“The governor also approved to the three SSA working for him in the north, south and central, 54 boreholes across the state to be supervised directly by our office towards the communities highlighted for him.
“He also approved 1600 solar lamps across the three senatorial districts, that is the first phase.
The second phase comes when we are through with the first phase.
“If we develop our various communities more, it lightens our load to the communities. We need to develop the grassroots. The governor noticed this, hence this office to be ahead of what is happening. Commissioners might not visit the communities, but the affected people are at the village level.
Gov. Aiyedatiwa is doing well in alleviating the sufferings in the communities. He has been in the saddle of this government not up to a year. It is not about the money, I am here to contribute my quota to this administration because I know they will do well if given the chance. I believe his foir years will surpass the eight years of some past administration because he has a listening ear.
The atmosphere in the state is calm because of his leadership by example.”
