Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has formally submitted his nomination form at the national headquarters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abuja as the consensus candidate for Ogun East Senatorial District.
Abiodun, who spoke briefly after the submission of the form, described the occasion as more than a political exercise, noting that it represents his enduring commitment to the people of Ogun East, a district he said, is renowned for its rich history, enterprise, culture, and immense potential.
In a related vein, leaders of the APC in Ogun State have unanimously endorsed Adetomiwa Adetilewa as the party’s consensus candidate for the House of Representatives seat to represent Ijebu Central Federal Constituency.
Reacting, Adetilewa expressed appreciation to the leadership of the party, members and supporters for the confidence reposed in him.
Also, leaders of the APC in Ogun State have endorsed the immediate past Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Adijat Adeleye, as the consensus candidate for Ifo/Ewekoro Federal Constituency come 2027.
Adeleye equally picked her Nomination and Expression of Interest Forms to contest for the seat at the House of Representative, promising to carry the leaders and people along in her representation and bring people oriented-projects to the communities with the constituency.
Her emergence as the candidate followed wide consultations and various reconciliatory moves and consensus agreements among party leaders, stakeholders, and key political figures within the constituency at a stakeholders’ meeting held at the Ibara GRA residence of Chief Joju Fadairo
In a statement, yesterday, the two-term former lawmaker in the State House of Assembly, thanked the party leaders and stakeholders, as well as the governor, for their support and contributions towards her emergence as the party’s consensus candidate for the House of Representatives seat.
