Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has congratulated Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, known better as Yayi, following his emergence as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress for the 2027 general election in the state.

Abiodun, in a statement issued on Thursday, said Adeola was overwhelmingly affirmed by party members during the APC direct governorship primary election conducted across Ogun State.

The governor described the exercise as peaceful, transparent and orderly, noting that it reflected the unity and internal democratic strength of the APC in the state.

He commended party members, leaders, stakeholders, electoral officials and security agencies for their roles in ensuring the successful conduct of the primary election across the state.

According to Abiodun, the peaceful outcome of the exercise demonstrated the commitment of the party to democratic principles and cohesion ahead of the 2027 elections.

The governor also reaffirmed the party’s commitment to sustaining progress, stability and development in Ogun State under the APC.

“We warmly congratulate Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola Yayi on his emergence and reaffirm our collective commitment to the continued progress, stability and development of Ogun State under the banner of our great party,” the statement read.
