A popular socialite and Chief Executive Officer of Klass Five Hotel, Adesoji Johnson Adeleye, has been killed by suspected assassins in Akure, Ondo State capital on Tuesday.
He was said to have been killed in the early hour of Tuesday in his hotel room at Igboliki Street, off Arakale area.
Adeleye, according to sources, slept in his hotel, but was found in the pool of his blood in his room having been stabbed severally by unknown persons.
One of his close associates disclosed that they both hangout on Monday night before they parted ways with the plan to meet today(Tuesday).
It was disclosed that when the incident was reported to the police, a team of detectives from the State Police Command visited the scene of the incident.
The remains of the victim was therefore eventuated and deposited in the morgue of the University of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital(UNIMEDTH), Akure.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the State Police Command, Alexander Olayinka, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) confirmed the incident, saying detectives are on the trail of the assailants.
He said: “We have sent a team of detectives to the place and we are on the trail of the perpetrators and as soon as we apprehend them, they will be brought to book”
“The case has been transferred to state police headquarters for discreet investigation, with a promise to fish out the perpetrators of the killing.”
