The Executive Chairman of Aladewe Investments Otunba, Yomi Akingbade has clinched the award of excellence in humanitarian services for the Year 2025 at a Dinner organized by Nigeria Union of Journalist , Ondo state branch in celebration of its week..
The award was in recognition of Akingbade’s exceptional performance in empowering the less privileged and developing the basic education sector in the state.
Speaking at the long week event to celebrate the NUJ week in Akure, Ondo State capital, the state Chairman of the union, Leke Adegbite described Otunba Akingbade as a forthright business man whose acts of big heart has inked his name indelibly in the sands of time among the down trodden and within the education system of Ondo State.
He also praised Otunba Akingbade’s kind gesture of enrolment of out-of-school children, purchase of WAEC forms for students, and provision of basic facilities for comducive learning environments in the schools.
In his award acceptance speech, Akingbade lauded the Nigeria Union of Journalists and dedicated the award to his late grandmother who imbibed the culture of giving into him and also to appreciate education.
“I want to thank NUJ for this award and I dedicate this award to God Almighty who gave me the opportunity to be in a position to assist others. I also want to dedicate the award to my grandmother, who imbibed the spirit of giving into me and I am also doing the same to my chidlren”, Akingbade said.
Otunba Yomi Akingbade also thanked the executives of NUJ Ondo state branch for honouring him.
He, however, promised to do more in putting smiles on the faces of people of all ages by using his God-given wealth to change the ugly trend of having so many out of school children roaming the streets on Ondo state.
