The National Emergency Management Agency in collaboration with various stakeholders, has welcomed the second batch of Nigerian returnees from Niger at the Immigration Training School on Airport Road, Kano.

This was disclosed on the agency’s X handle on Monday.

“The group, totaling 392 individuals, arrived at approximately 3:05 PM. The returnees were profiled and registered upon arrival to ensure proper documentation and access to necessary support.

“Among the returnees were 176 adult males, 122 adult females, and 94 children, including 78 boys and 16 girls.

“The event was marked by robust participation of partners such as the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants, and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI), the Kano State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), the Nigerian Immigration Services, the Nigerian Red Cross Society, the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons,” the statement partly read.

The Lagos Territorial Office of NEMA, along with other stakeholders, had in November received 148 returnees from the Niger Republic.

The return was facilitated by the International Organisation for Migration Mission in the Niger Republic.

According to NEMA, the repatriated Nigerians included 120 adult males, nine adult females, 10 male children, seven female children, and two infants.
