As the ongoing nationwide protest goes violent in Kaduna State, the state Governor, Uba Sani has declared a 24-hour curfew on the metropolitan cities of Kaduna and Zaria.

He imposed the curfew after raising from the state Security Council urgent meeting during which the protest was reviewed.
It was discovered that the protest has been hijacked by criminals who began to loot and destroy private and public property.
The overseeing Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, advised the people of the state to remain indoors while security forces work to maintain safety and security.
He said the curfew would be reviewed when necessary.
