The United Nations International Children Emergency Fund-sponsored measles and HPV/Non Polio Supplemental Immunization programme has been postponed.
The programme earlier scheduled to begin tomorrow, Saturday, was postponed by one week.
By the postponement, the programme would take off on Saturday, October 12, 2024.
The Social and Behaviour Change Specialist, UNICEF, Mrs. Aderonke Akinola-Akinwole was quoted to have confirmed the postponement on Friday.
Children from 9 months old to 59 months, boys and girls, are being targeted by the measles vaccination programme, besides other routine immunization.
State governments had been mandated by the UNICEF to give Human Papilloma Vaccine(HPV) to eligible girls from age 9 years to 14 years.
Parents are being implored to make their children available for vaccination when the immunization commenced on Saturday, next week.
