President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Chairman of BUA Group and Founder of ASR Africa, Abdul Samad Rabiu, CON, CFR, on his 66th birthday, describing him as one of Nigeria’s foremost industrialists and philanthropists whose investments have significantly contributed to the country’s industrial growth and economic transformation.

n a congratulatory message released by the Presidency on Monday, President Tinubu joined the Rabiu family, friends, associates and the Nigerian business community in celebrating the business mogul, commending his enduring commitment to enterprise, nation-building and philanthropy.
The President said Rabiu’s remarkable journey reflects the values of vision, resilience, innovation and an unwavering belief in Nigeria’s economic potential.
According to Tinubu, the BUA Group Chairman has emerged as one of the leading architects of modern Nigerian industry through strategic investments that have expanded domestic production, strengthened food security, created thousands of jobs and demonstrated the ability of indigenous businesses to compete successfully on the African continent.

“For decades, Abdul Samad Rabiu has exemplified the finest traditions of Nigerian entrepreneurship,” the President said.
“He has built industries instead of seeking shortcuts, invested for the long term instead of chasing quick returns, and repeatedly demonstrated confidence in our country, even in periods when many preferred to wait on the sidelines.”

President Tinubu further noted that Rabiu’s legacy extends beyond the size of his business empire, saying his impact is reflected in the factories that continue to operate, the livelihoods they sustain and the confidence they inspire in Nigeria’s future.
He also praised Rabiu’s philanthropic efforts through ASR Africa, describing the initiative as evidence that true prosperity carries a responsibility to uplift communities and strengthen institutions.

“His success is not measured only by the scale of the businesses he has built, but by the factories that continue to produce, the livelihoods they sustain, the communities they support and the confidence they inspire in Nigeria’s future.

Through ASR Africa, he has also shown that prosperity carries with it a responsibility to give back and strengthen the institutions that serve our people,” the President added.

Rabiu, one of Africa’s most influential business leaders, oversees the diversified BUA Group, with interests spanning cement manufacturing, sugar refining, food processing, real estate and infrastructure.
His philanthropic organisation, ASR Africa, has funded hundreds of projects across education, healthcare, social development and humanitarian interventions in Nigeria and other African countries.

President Tinubu prayed for Rabiu’s continued good health, wisdom and strength, expressing confidence that the industrialist would continue to contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s economic development and the prosperity of the African continent.
