The senator representing Ondo Northern Senatorial District, Mr. Jide Ipinsagba has been alleged by his constituency of poor performance.
He was alleged of not doing anything to better the life of his constituents and attract federal projects for the district’s development.
In an open letter written by one of his constituents, Ife Ajibuwa, the senator was alleged of wasting the last one and a half years he has spent at the National Assembly.
Ajibuwa alleged that Senator Ipinsagba has failed the people in terms of youth development, skill acquisition, or job creation.
He said the senator has failed to fulfill his promises to the people.
According to Ajibuwa, petty traders and other small scale businesses in the district are crumbling and the senator has abandoned them to their fate.
The open letter entitled: “You’ve wasted 20months at Senate, time is ticking against you,” reads inter alia: “It is imperative to have an honest conversation about the critical gaps that remain in your leadership, particularly in the area of human empowerment.
“My passionate plea is neither for personal gain nor a critique borne out of malice but a challenge for you to rise to the occasion and deliver on the promises you made to us.
“You have been in office for over 20 months, nearly half of your tenure, yet there is little to show in terms of youth development, skill acquisition, or job creation.
“For a region like Ondo North, where unemployment is rampant and many small businesses struggle to survive, human empowerment is not just an expectation, it is a necessity.
“I must ask: where is the promised “Renewed Hope” and the leadership that inspired the trust of the people who voted for you?
“Other senators across the country, whom I would prefer not to name, have demonstrated that with the right commitment, meaningful change is achievable. I am fully aware that opportunities such as constituency project funds, partnerships with government agencies, private sector collaborations, etc, are available to you.
“Unfortunately, it appears that these opportunities have not yet been fully utilized to ameliorate the lives of your constituents. The lack of human empowerment programmes is particularly troubling, especially when other legislators have used similar resources to create tangible impacts.
“It is also worth pointing out that, as of today, you have not facilitated employment for even one single individual in Ondo North, let alone sponsoring talented persons abroad for further education or knowledge acquisition.
“This fact alone speaks volumes about the urgency of the situation. I do not raise this point to undermine your efforts but to emphasize the need for immediate improvement.
“The people of Ondo North deserve a senator who listens to their concerns and prioritizes their needs.
“We are not asking for miracles, Senator; we are asking for action. We want to see programmes that provide grants for small businesses, scholarships for students, and other events that empower our people to stand on their own feet.”
But Senator Ipinsagba, in his response to the letter, claimed that he had organised some empowerment programmes during which distributed fertilisers and some other materials to the people of the district.
He said he had remained committed to his legislative duty and described his impact in the district as monumental.
Nevertheless, Senator Ipinsagba was advised by Ajibuwa to brace up or step aside in the next election to allow a good personality that would represent the people.

A 17-year-old and mother of one year and five months baby, simply identified as Deola, has reportedly committed suicide due to a misunderstanding between her and her spouse, Seyi, over two cups of rice.
The incident occurred in the Labi community in the Akinyele Local Government Area of Oyo State, and she was buried on Tuesday.
Investigations revealed that she allegedly took an insecticide when she had a misunderstanding with her husband over the measurement of rice to be prepared for her kid.
A family source, who preferred anonymity, said, “The two of them (husband and wife) actually had a minor issue over a measurement of rice.
“When she was trying to prepare food in the morning, the husband only advised her to measure just two cups because the food was meant for her and the kid, meaning that he (husband) would not eat out of it, but she got angry.
“So, to avoid crisis, the husband left home immediately. She prepared the food and took the kid to school. She took insecticide after she came back and nobody knew.”
Another family source said that “she suddenly became weak and started vomiting. After we discovered that, we then called her husband, who had already left home on the phone, to come back.
“We quickly rushed her to a nearby hospital before she was transferred to another hospital at Orogun community in this Akinyele Local Government. She eventually gave up the ghost and we buried her yesterday (Tuesday).”
