Police have bursted a syndicate that specialized in stealing vehicles in Ondo State and selling same in other neighboring states.
A member of the syndicate, one Afolabi Emmanuel, 32, was arrested after stealing a Toyota Camry in Oka-Akoko area of the state.
Through car tracker in the car her stole, the police team was bale to l trail him to Kogi State where the car was recovered.
When arrested and interrogated Emmanuel confessed to the crime. He told the police about his past operations.
He revealed to the police how he used to steal vehicles from Ondo state and drive them to Gboko, Benue State.
One Valentine Ezekiel,who is the major receiver of the stolen vehicles, was arrested.
Another three other vehicles were recovered from Ogun State based on the confessional statement of the suspect.
However, the state Police Commissioner, Wilfred Afolabi appreciated the people of the state for cooperating with the police by giving the information at the right time to combat crimes in the state.
He, therefore, advised vehicle owners across the state to endeavour to procure pedal lock or install tracker in the vehicles to prevent them from being stolen.
