A former governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom, along with three other officials, has been suspended by the Benue Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) over alleged anti – party activities.

The suspension was announced following a meeting of the State Working Committee (SWC) of the PDP in Makurdi.
The individuals suspended alongside Ortom include the state Deputy Chairman of PDP, Isaac Mffor , and the Publicity Secretary, Bemgba Lortyom. The suspensions were confirmed in a statement released on Monday by the Media Consyof the PDP , Cornelius Hwande .
Hwande stated that Ortom’s suspension was due to his endorsement of the Labour Party candidate in the 2003 election and his statement urging the Benue PDP to vote for the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the 2027 Presidential election
