Beneficiaries of bags of fertilizer distributed to farmers in Oyo State have commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu.
The farmers commended the gesture of the Federal Government in its determination to boost food production and support farmers in the country.
In address, the Chairman of All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN), Oyo State Chapter, Engr. Olumide Ayinla described the gesture as a timely intervention.
He emphasized the fertilizer would boost food production in the state and enhance the financial strength of the farmers.
Appreciating the Minister, the farmers said: “Adelabu has been a friend to the farmers even before he became Minister. In our association, we are even considering bestowing on him “Baba Agbe of Oyo State.”
“Whoever that takes care of farmers is taking care of the nation, most of farmers cannot afford a bag of fertilizer.”
Nevertheless, it is expected that the impact of the fertilizer distributed would be felt by the people of the state in reduction in prices of farm produce in a couple of months time.
They pledged their unflinching support for the minister in achieving his ambition to succeed Governor Makinde in 2027.
