No fewer than 18 senior officers in Ondo State Police Command who had just been promoted were on Friday decorated with their new ranks.
According to a statement by the Spokesperson of the Command, Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, a Superintendent of Police(SP), “The former Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, John Agwoye was elevated to the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police while the Officer in charge of the Special Anti-Kidnapping Squad, Kabiru Akinroye was promoted to the rank of an Assistant Commissioner of Police .
“Sixteen Superintendents of Police were also promoted to the rank of Chief Superintendents of Police, amongst whom are DPO’s Ijoka, Otu, Bolorunduro, Okeigbo among others.”
Congratulating the officers on their new promotions, the state Commissioner of Police, Abayomi Peter Oladipo charged them to be more dedicated, saying the “more rank signifies bigger responsibilities.”
He, therefore, urged them to be role models to their subordinates wherever they are posted and good ambassadors of the Nigeria Police
Speaking on behalf of all the promotees, Deputy Commissioner of Police Agwoye on behalf of all promoters, expressed their gratitude to the Commissioner of Police, Inspector General of Police and Police Service Commission for finding them worthy for consideration of their new and enviable ranks.
He, therefore, promised that they would do their best in the interest of the force and the nation at large.
