The Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Chief Uche Nnaji, has distanced himself from the ongoing leadership crisis in All Progressives Congress (APC) in Enugu North Senatorial District.
He stated on Saturday, while reacting to the allegation that he’s the one spearheading leadership crisis in APC Enugu State, that the allegation was baseless and share desperate utterances of some persons who no longer have any recognised standing within the party.
He emphasized that his accusers did not speak for the party nor represent the authentic leadership of the party in the state.
The minister said: “It is necessary to state unequivocally that those who convened and attended the so-called stakeholders’ meeting; their purported gathering holds no legitimacy, and their pronouncements are of no consequence to official activities, leadership, or direction of APC.”
He, therefore, declared that “Chief Ugo Agballa remains the duly recognised and authentic Chairman of the APC in Enugu State.”
Dismissing the allegation, the minister called on members and supporters of APC to disregard the allegation, saying it’s “calculated attempts to cause confusion and mislead party members and the general public.”
