Fuji icon King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, has firmly denied allegations of unruly behaviour at a ValueJet boarding gate earlier this week.
In a statement released by his media aide, Kunle Rasheed, the veteran musician described the circulating reports as “exaggerated and misleading.”
The incident, which occurred on August 5, 2025, reportedly involved a misunderstanding between K1 and airport staff concerning a bottle of drinking water he had received while waiting in the lounge.
Some media outlets had claimed that the artiste breached aviation protocol and attempted to block the aircraft — allegations his camp says are completely baseless.
“At no point did K1 act in a manner that endangered lives or breached safety regulations.
“The substance in question — wrongly sensationalized — was nothing more than plain drinking water,” the statement read.
According to Rasheed, K1 made efforts to explain the situation respectfully but was met with what he described as an unnecessary escalation.
The artiste, who frequently travels both locally and internationally, is said to be well-versed in aviation rules and had no intention of disrupting flight operations.
Interestingly, the statement revealed that top aviation officials, including representatives from FAAN, NCAA, and senior executives from ValueJet, reached out to the musician following the incident.
They allegedly tendered apologies and offered him a private jet to Lagos at no cost — an offer he reportedly turned down “graciously.”
“If indeed there had been anything inappropriate, these high-ranking officials would not have extended such gestures,” Rasheed added.
While details of the actual confrontation remain sketchy, it has now emerged that the pilot involved has had her license suspended.
The statement hinted that the pilot might be attempting to “deflect blame” and possibly distort the facts.
K1’s camp insisted that he was the victim in the entire episode and was accompanied only by his personal assistant.
A few concerned passengers who witnessed the exchange were said to have intervened to calm tensions, recognizing the undue pressure he faced.
The statement concluded by urging the media and public to “avoid sensationalism” and allow the truth to emerge without bias or assumptions.
“K1 remains a law-abiding citizen and continues to cooperate fully with all relevant authorities to ensure that the matter is responsibly resolved,” the aide said.
As the story continues to unfold, one thing is clear: the legendary musician is not taking the accusations lightly — and is prepared to defend his reputation against what his team calls an unfair misrepresentation.
