Gunmen have abducted the Chairman of All Progressives Congress APC in Ifon, Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State, Mr. Nelson Adepoyogi.
Sources disclosed that the APC chieftain was abducted by unidentified gunmen at the entrance of his home on Monday evening.
Adepoyigi is the Chairman APC, Ifon Ward 5 in Ose Local Government Area of the state.
A source disclosed that the APC chieftain was abducted while about to enter his residence.
He was said to be returning from his farm along Ifon/Owo Road, Ifon when the gunmen struck.
Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the state Police Command, Olusola Ayanlade, a Deputy Superintendent of Police(DSP), said the victim was kidnapped at the entrance of his farm.
He said a joint security team is already trailing the perpetrators to rescue the victim and arrest the perpetrators.
According to him, “I can confirm to you that the chairman, APC ward 5 was kidnapped at the entrance of his farm along Ifon-Owo Road.
“At the receipt of the report, the DPO Ifon in collaboration with the hunters, local VGN and Nigeria Army personnel have launched a manhunt for the suspects.”
Sources revealed that the gunmen have contacted the family of the victim, demanding N100 million for his release..
