The ‘EndBadGovernance’ protesters across the country have been called upon to be civil and avoid the ongoing protest not to be hijacked by miscreants in order to allow peace to reign in the country.
A communique issued and signed by the chairman of the ‘Sunshine Advancement Advocacy Ambassadors’, Hon Olaniyi Ogungbuji, which was made available to journalists on Thursday in Akure also called on the federal government to ensure availability of fuel at reasonable price as opposed to the present situation where possible is sold at N800 to N950 per litre in Ondo state.
The statement reads further; “the group viewed with concern the present high cost of food items in Nigeria. The group appreciated some measures taken by the federal government, among which is the provision of trucks of different food items in the form of palliative to the state governments.
“The group advised earlier distribution of the food items to the populace regardless of political affiliation, the food items should not be a tool for political campaign in Ondo State.
“The group wish to advise the government to ensure availability of fuel at reasonable price as opposed to the present situation where possible is sold at N800 to N950 per litre in Ondo state.
“The group frowned at high wave of insecurity in Ondo state, precisely the current kidnapping along Ifon-Benin, Idoani, Supare-Emure road etc. The group wishes to appeal to the state government to beef up security in the border communities of Ondo state.
“The group wishes to enjoin all political parties to play the game according to the prescribed rules. The group pleaded that the campaign and election should be devoid of thuggery and vandalism.”
