In a bid to enhance security in the region, troops from Sector 1 of the Joint Task Force Operation Delta Safe have apprehended three individuals found in possession of an extensive array of weapons.
According to a statement from Major Emmanuel Onoja, Assistant Director of Army Public Relations, dated Friday, September 27, 2024, the suspects were captured while traveling in a Lexus RX 350 in Oghareki community of Ethiope West Local Government Area of Delta State.
The vehicle, which bears the registration number YAB 347 CQ, was occupied by the suspects identified as Abel Festus, Ramsey Akporoyibo, and Stephen Omah.
The operation yielded a significant cache of weapons, including five pump-action rifles, a Dane gun, a battle axe, and 51 cartridges.
The suspects have been taken into custody to undergo thorough interrogation and further investigation.
