…Threaten To Refund Transport Fare

The controversy surrounding the allegation that Senator representing Ondo Northern Senatorial District at the Senate, Jide Ipinsagba, is not yet over as constituents insisted that he failed to perform his responsibility to the district.
The constituents under the aegis of Ondo North Youth, in a statement signed by the group’s President, Ojo Bright Eniafe, absolved themselves from the alleged failure of the senator.
Responding to a statement by the aide of the senator, which accused them of undermining his performance, the constituents said Senator Ipinsagba has allegedly “used the weapon of poverty to cow a paltry few into submission to his failure to keep to the Abuja accord.”
They, therefore, declared that what they spent on their trip to Abuja when they went to meet the senator to discuss on how to draw empowerment programmes to better the lives of the people of the senatorial district was much more than the N1 million he gave them as transport fare.
The group also disclosed that one of the aides of the senator augmented the fare with N500,000.
Dismissing the claims of the senator that he distributed 50kg bags of rice to the people, the constituents said the senator distributed 25kg bags of rice.
The group, however, advised the senator to retrace his footsteps and see to how he would meet the demands of the people of the district.
Referring to a certain communal crisis in the district, the group alleged that the senator failed to intervene in the crisis.
They, therefore, threatened to refund the N1 million given to them by the senator.
