…Monarch Honours Governor With Jagunmolu Of Iyansan

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State and the candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming November 16 off-circle gubernatorial election has assured the traditional rulers in the state that his administration would not interfere in the selection of their traditional rulers.
Giving the assurance on Friday while addressing the people of Irele community at the Irele Multipurpose Hall and Civic Centre in continuation of his campaign in the Southern Senatorial District of the state, the governor said he would allow the people select their obas themselves.
In a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, Governor Aiyedatiwa assured the people of Irele community that he would not interfere in the selection of their new king, saying they would choose whoever they wish to be their monarch.
Governor Aiyedatiwa also declared that his administration would consolidate on its achievements in the next four years if voted into power at the forthcoming governorship poll.
He revealed that his administration had prioritized security of lives and property in the state, saying it’s crucial for good governance and development of the state.
The governor, who promised to run an inclusive government, emphasised that his administration would not make any promise that it cannot fulfill.
He, therefore, disclosed that the construction of 28km Iyansan-Ajagba-Akotogbo Road has commenced.
Governor Aiyedatiwa said: “Whoever the kingmakers choose is the one who will be king. I implore the kingmakers to follow due process so that there will be a smooth selection process.”
Chief Adeniyi Samson, of the community leaders, commended the governor for paying workers salaries promptly, including gratuities.
Chief Adeniyi, therefore, enjoined all the residents of Irele community to come out en masse and vote for the governor on November 16.
The Odogbo of Omi, Oba Olorunsola Akinyelure, who responded on behalf of the traditional rulers, appreciated the governor for prioritising the welfare of traditional rulers in the state.
He said: “You have done something for all monarchs in Irele local government. You have empowered us to shoulder our responsibilities. You have listening ears.”
Another prominent resident of the community, Remi Olatubora, SAN, who assured the Governor of the full support of the people of Irele, said: “We want to assure you that the kind of margin that nobody has ever had, we will give to you in Irele. This local government will not only vote for you but stand by you.”
Governor Aiyedatiwa also visited Iyansan community, where he was also given a warm reception.
The traditional ruler of the community, Oba Akinyomi Olasehinde, the Laaragunsin of Ode Iyansan, honoured Governor Aiyedatiwa with the chieftaincy title of the Jagunmolu of Iyansan.
The monarch and his people declared their support for the governor ahead of the November 16 gubernatorial poll.
