“That you , Bankole Kayode, Akande Michael, and Abu Dada and other at large on or about 12th day of May, 2025 at about 1:00am at No E16 Olorunsogo Street, Iboropa-Akoko, Akoko North East Local Government Area of Ondo State within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court did attempt to kidnap one Mrs. Julianah Shaba and therefore committed an offence punishable under Section 4 of the Ondo State Anti Kidnapping and Anti Abduction Law, 2010.”

The prosecution, I.O. Osobu Esq had filed an application for the remand of the defendants in a correctional facility on grounds that the court dose not have power to adjudicate on the matter.

However, the attorney to the defendants, Akinde Ayomide had filed a counter application arguing that there’s no cause to remand the defendants.

Handing down his ruling, the presiding magistrate, Chief Magistrate, Sekoni said he had called for the submission of the case file for him to have deep knowledge of the matter.

He, therefore, said that having gone through the confessional statements of the defendants, he found probable cause to remand the defendants.

The court therefore ruled that the defendants should be remanded in Olokuta Correctional facility in Akure.

He, therefore, ordered that the case file be duplicated and forwarded to Department of Public Prosecution(PDP) for issuance of legal advice.

The court, however, adjourned till September 1, 2025.
