The ongoing coalition being formed by some bigwigs in Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and African Democratic Congress (ADC) has been described as a mission that would not be accomplished.
Leader and chairman of Tinubu Mandate Group (TMG), Pastor Olufemi Bakare stated this on Monday in Akure, Ondo State capital while reacting to the coalition.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain said the personalities that converged to form the coalition would begin to fight themselves because they would not agree on who should be the candidate of the coalition.
He stated that the proponents of the coalition were only out to actualise their selfish interest, noting that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu meant well for the nation.
According to Pastor Bakare, the policies of President Tinubu are targeted at putting the nation in the right footing.
He noted that the people coming up with the coalition were responsible for the socio-economic challenges being faced by the nation.
Pastor Bakare said: .”The Bible says, they shall surely gather. If their gathering is not of the Lord, he will scatter them. You will be alive when these people will be fighting themselves because President Bola Tinubu meant well for Nigeria.
“These are the people who have destroyed the soul and the sources, who have looted the resources of Nigeria. Tiinubu came to the rescue.
“Just like I said yesterday at a forum, when a child is to be born, before you have joy, the mother will feel a lot of pain. The pain we are feeling right now is just comparable to the pain of womanhood when a child is to be born. The minute that a child is born, you will see laughter in the face of the mother. We are passing through that childbirth pain. This is what Tinubu is trying to do.
“It is a new dimension of politics. It is a fundamental economic restructuring of Nigeria. It is a situation of putting together the disequilibrium in the economy of Nigeria.
“Some presidents will go and borrow money, put it on Nigeria as a debt, and this money will be squandered and be looted again. Even looted funds are brought back to Nigeria, they are being looted again. This is something that has been happening.
“Tinubu is putting a new foundation of accountability, of restructuring the economy in a way that people will see. You can see a lot of these governors now. They have a lot of money to do things. I was happy today when the governor of Edo State said he has brought back the transportation system of Edo State. He said that they already have about 100 big buses.”
Asked about the experiences and capabilities of the crop of politicians in the coalition to unseat President Tinubu in 2027, Pastor Bakare agreed that there are some of them with military background, but dismissed them as being unfit to outsmart President Tinubu.
He said: “Asiwaju is a master strategist. Asiwaju is a man who plans. We have had presidents before who were just given that position, they didn’t bargain for. But this is a man who has been planning, who has been labouring, who has been yearning to see that the situation of Nigeria is changed for better.”
Speaking on the security situation in the country, particularly the lingering activities of the insurgents, Pastor Bakare described it as a systemic challenge that could not be solved in a day.
He said this is the reason former President Muhammadu Buhari could not solve it when in office for eight years.
According to him, “The former president, General Muhammadu Buhari, was he not a general in the Army? Did he solve the problem one day? It is a systemic change.
“The problem we had about security, I was discussing with some generals sometime ago, and they told me, when a man, a security guard in your private house, has two wives at your gate, has some children at your gate. His means of livelihood is limited, and he keeps on producing children. And we ask these children to go to the road, and go and bring money. What do you expect?
“These are fundamental things. And I am happy, I assure you, President Tinubu is attacking it headlong, by putting more money into education, by putting more money into universities, by putting more money into SUBEB, so that people can get educated. When you are educated, you don’t want to go begging, you don’t want to go and produce children that you cannot take care of.
“The Bible says whoever cannot take care of his family is worse than an infidel. The Muslims don’t want an infidel. If you cannot provide for the members of your family, then you are worse.”
