In a move to strengthen inter-agency cooperation and solidify collective commitment towards a safer and more secure Ondo State and Nigeria at large, the leadership and Staff Officers of Course 3/2025, Nigerian Army College of Logistics and Management (NACOLM), Ikeja, Lagos, on Wednesday paid a courtesy visit to the Commissioner of Police Adebowale Lawal Ondo State Police Command.
According to a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Ayanlade Olayinka, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) stated that the delegation led by the Directing Staff of the College, Colonel AA Adegboye, who was accompanied by gallant student officers, was warmly received by the Commissioner of Police, and his management team at the Command Headquarters, Alagbaka, Akure.
The statement reads in parts: “As part of the visit, the officers were taken on a guided tour of key facilities within the Police Command.
“The tour highlighted the significance of each department and operational unit, offering the visiting officers a deeper understanding of the internal workings of the Command and the strategic relevance of inter-agency synergy in achieving collective security goals.
“Emphasis was placed on the importance of collaboration in intelligence sharing, logistics coordination, and joint operational planning across the nation’s security architecture.
“Following the facility tour, the delegation was formally hosted at the Officers’ Mess of the Command. During the event, the Commissioner of Police delivered an insightful lecture titled “Optimizing National Security through a Whole of Society Approach.” In his presentation, CP Lawal Adebowale underscored the Command’s unwavering commitment to inclusive security strategies, stakeholder engagement, protection of critical infrastructure, and continuous capacity building for officers.
“He also emphasized that the Command operates in alignment with the strategic vision of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D, NPM, who, out of his sheer munificence, recently approved and deployed a state-of-the-art gunboat to the Ondo State Command.
“This operational boost now positions the Command to effectively police not only the hinterlands but also the vast and strategic waterways of the state, ensuring the comprehensive protection of lives and property.
“After the lecture, the event transitioned into an interactive session during which the visiting officers posed thoughtful questions concerning security challenges and the dynamics of inter-agency collaboration.
“The Commissioner of Police responded to each inquiry with depth and clarity, providing satisfying and enlightening answers that reinforced the need for continued cooperation among sister agencies.
“In his remarks, the leader of the delegation, Colonel A.A. Adegboye, expressed profound appreciation for the warm reception accorded to the team and conveyed the goodwill of the Commandant of NACOLM, Major General A.M. Adetuyi. He commended the Ondo State Police Command for its demonstrable professionalism, dedication to inter-agency cooperation, and its community-oriented policing philosophy.
“Colonel A.A Adegboye further reiterated the Nigerian Army College’s readiness to deepen institutional collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force and other security stakeholders to foster mutual learning, enhance operational effectiveness, and strengthen the country’s overall security framework.
“The visit marks yet another milestone in advancing the “Whole of Society” approach to national security and reflects the shared commitment of Nigeria’s security institutions to work in concert for the peace, stability, and progress of the nation.”
