NEMA Receives 111 Nigerian From Niger Republic

The National Emergency Agency (NEMA) has received 111 Nigerians who were repatriated from Niamey, the capital of the Niger Republic on Monday.

Among the repatriated Nigerians, 87 were adult males, eight were male children, eight were adult females, and nine female children.

The agency revealed the details of their reception in a statement posted on X on Wednesday morning.

“As part of the ongoing efforts to support voluntary returnees, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Kano Office, in collaboration with other critical stakeholders, received 111 Nigerian nationals repatriated from Niamey, Niger Republic,” the statement read in part.

“The returnees arrived at Malam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA) at 7:20 p.m. on May 26, 2025.”

The agency further disclosed that the repatriation exercise was facilitated by the International Organization for Migration (IOM), in collaboration with key agencies involved in migrant support and reintegration.

Upon their arrival, the returnees were transported to Chilla Hotel, where they underwent profiling and documentation on Tuesday.
