The crisis rocking the royal institution in Oyo State over the new conditions to ascend the thrown of Olubadan has finally been put to rest.

A former governor of Oyo State and Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland, High Chief Rashidi Ladoja, who was at the center of the crisis due to his refusal to wear beaded crown has eventually agreed to receive and wear the beaded crown.
He said he would wear the beaded crown if it’s s the wish of God and that of the Ibadan people.
Speaking on a live radio programme on a local radio in Ibadan, Ladoja declared that he not be deterred by any conditions from ascending the thrown of Olubadan when It’s his turn.
He said noted that he would become the Olubadan if he’s destined by God, adding that a lot of people had became the Balogun or Otun Olubadan but eventually didn’t ascend the thrown of Olubadan.
The former governor said: “By the grace of God, I will become Olubadan. God has been merciful to me. My blood pressure has been stable.
“Anyone God destined to become Olubadan will become Olubadan. There is no amount of obstacles that they may put on the road, if God says someone will become Olubadan, he will become Olubadan.
“This thing started during the regime of my younger brother, Abiola Ajimobi, and I won. It has been there since. What I know is that, it is the Olubadan that supposed to make any amendment and not the governor.
“I will do what Ibadan people want. Everything is being determined by God. We have had many people who became Balogun that did not become Olubadan,.
“We have had many people who became Otun Olubadan but did not become Olubadan. Omiyale and Kuye died ten days apart.”
