In spite of the ongoing nationwide protest, Dr. Hon. Usman Midala Balami, representing Askira/Uba Federal Constituency of Borno State at House of Representatives on Thursday distributed 2,200 bags of different fertilizers to his constituents.

He commended the people of his constituency for boycotting the nationwide protests.
The lawmaker assured them that he would continue to meet their yearnings and aspirations in line with his campaign promises.
While flagging off the distribution in Marama town in Hawul Local Government Area of the state, Dr. Balami explained that the distribution became necessary to give the farmers the input to boost their harvest.
Dr. Balami said: “Apart from this gesture, I have sponsored many Bills, in addition to the provision of scholarship schemes, palliatives, and empowerment initiatives across the constituency.
“In a bid to boost agricultural productivity and address food insecurity, I am glad to flag off the distribution of fertilizer to 2,200 beneficiaries across the constituency in this year’s cropping season.
“This is in line with our legislative agenda to support farmers and improve agricultural yields, thereby ensuring food security and economic growth in the constituency.
“That is why we facilitated the supply of trucks of fertilizer to support farmers in Askira-Uba and Hawul Local Government Areas.
“I assured my constituents that we shall continue with our commitment to supporting agricultural development and addressing the challenges faced by farmers in our constituency.
“It is pertinent to note that an ad-hoc committee has been constituted for similar distribution in Askira-Uba Local Government Area. I want to enjoin the beneficiaries to make good use of the products.
“Already, we have provided education support, palliative and empowerment initiatives across constituencies.”
In their reactions, the beneficiaries appreciated the lawmaker, saying the fertilizer would go a long way in boosting their harvest.
