As the August 1, 2024 proposed nationwide protest would start any moment, youths in Ondo State under the aegis of Concerned Revolutionary Youths, have distanced themselves from the protest

Secretary of the group, Comrade Ogundipe Seyi Olaniyi, said they have the information that some hoodlums had concluded plans to attack some private properties under the pretext of protest.
He said: “We are not participating in the protest not because we are afraid or intimidated, but because we don’t want corporate miscreants to hijack the protest.
“We are not being bankrolled by anyone. We have interfaced with security agencies, including DSS and Amotekun Corps on this issue.
“We also met with traditional institutions and the state government.
“We were told there are some places which had been marked for destruction. Most of these places are owned by people from other regions of the country.
“With the help of Akogun Tunji Adeleye, the state Commandant of Amotekun Corps, who spoke with all the youths together with the Minister of State for Youth, Ayowande Wisdom, the Deji and Paramount Ruler of Akure Kingdom, Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi, and most importantly the youth leader of Akure, Comrade Tuyi Adekanbi intervened.
“Most importantly, I must commend the efforts of Minister of State for Youth for his timely engagement since the proposed strike and also the Amotekun Corps commandant.”
