Yoruba Ronu Group, a socio-political group, has appealed to traditional rulers in Yoruba states of South-West Nigeria, urging them to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and prevent any disruptions in Yoruba land.

The Chairman of the group, Prince Diran Iyantan, in a letter addressed to the state Chairmen of the Council of Obas, expressed concern over individuals within Yoruba kingdoms who are posing as opposition voices against the President and working to destabilize the government.
The group emphasized that it would be unfair to blame President Tinubu for the present state of the nation’s economy, noting that it’s aftermath of years of neglect by previous administrations.
Meanwhile, Yoruba Ronu Group highlighted the President’s efforts in addressing the challenges facing the country through initiatives such as the Presidential Economic Coordination Council and the Economic Stabilisation Programme.
It, therefore, warned against the impending uproar in Yoruba land, particularly in Lagos, where violence and disruption against the government of President Tinubu are being planned.
Consequently, the group called on the traditional rulers to ensure peace and stability in their domains and to take proactive measures to prevent any disruption from occurring.
It urged the traditional rulers to be vocal in their support for President Tinubu and to continue speaking out against issues affecting the Yoruba people.
The group emphasized “the importance of standing united in support of their own son who is now Nigeria’s President and working towards a brighter future for Yoruba land.”
“We appreciate our traditional rulers for their attention to the matter and their continued partnership with the present government to bring about unprecedented development to Yoruba land.
“We are optimistic in the ongoing massive coastal road project, which would benefit Yoruba states and the South-South geopolitical zone of Nigeria,” the statement reads.
