…Says Stop Copying PDP You Demonize

The Coalition of Democratic Leaders (CDL), a Pro PDP Advocacy Group, has issued a stern warning to the self-styled advocacy wing of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), the so-called Coalition of Grassroots Democratic, over its blatant and unrepentant mimicry of the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) internal structure and operational model, a structure they once vehemently attack and ridicule.
Briefing newsmen in Abuja, the National Team Lead of CDL, Dr Paschal Eje described ADC as an unholy sanctuary for desperate politicians. According to him, it is the height of political hypocrisy and intellectual dishonesty for a group that has built its propaganda on demonizing the PDP to now turn around and replicate the very model they labeled “obsolete and corrupt.” This shallow pretense cannot be ignored, and the Nigerian people must not be deceived.
According to a statement signed by Hon. Fu’ad Muhammad, Director Media and Publicity, Coalition of Democratic Leaders(CDL), Dr. Eje said: Let it be made categorically clear: if the PDP was as broken, dirty, and discredited as you portrayed, no honest actor would adopt its blueprint, not even in part, let alone in full.
“The current imitation by the Coalition of Grassroots Democratic only serves to validate what discerning Nigerians have always known: the PDP remains the gold standard of internal party democracy, national reach, and democratic resilience in Nigeria.
“From youth and women inclusion to zonal balancing, issue-based advocacy, and grassroots institutional presence, the PDP continues to embody the democratic ideals many parties only dream about. The same principles that shaped Nigeria’s democratic transition and laid the foundation for successive elections are now being shamelessly imitated by groups that once sought to discredit them.
Also, speaking to newsmen, the Deputy National Team Lead of The CDL, Barr. Salas Tafiwarwar urges the ADC and its affiliated groups to find their own path rather than hiding behind a shallow and embarrassing reproduction of the very system they publicly rejected. This is not only an insult to the intelligence of Nigerian voters but also a gross act of political dishonor.
“We reaffirm that the PDP remains a reference point, a national asset, and a force to reckon with in Nigerian politics and governance. While others pretend and perform, we continue to lead, to reform, and to endure, with a structure others can only copy and never truly replicate.
“Enough of the hypocrisy. Enough of the noise. Let those who demonize democracy stop borrowing its garments.”
